👋 Meet the operations team
It's hard to believe 2024 is already halfway over! While reflecting on the first half of the year, my colleagues and I thought now would be a great time to give you a behind-the-scenes look at the certification side of the Global Seafood Alliance.
If we haven't met before, I'm Keiko, the Director of Certification Operations here at GSA. Originally from Japan, I came to the US for school, met my husband and started a family. With 27 years in the seafood industry (the past 4 with GSA), I've always been focused on quality assurance and a process-oriented approach to creating solutions.
What brings me fulfillment in my role is knowing that my team, and the organization as a whole, are working together and supporting each other. My team's passion for seafood speaks for itself. With each one having a seafood background (whether through education or current/previous jobs), we all believe in the mission of GSA.
To support our goal of continuous improvement this year, the certification team is focused on upgrading our systems in order to streamline and add efficiencies, leading to clearer communication with our customers. This allows us to do what we enjoy most – supporting our customers through making genuine connections.
