Meet the Team Series - Richart Peters!

• How long have you been with USSM and why did you join our organization?

I’m proud to say I have been with USSM for 4 and a half years and joined the organization as I saw this as the opportunity of a lifetime. You seldom get an opportunity to be part of the process development of a new mining operation, and it’s even more scarce in a country like the USA. USSM afforded me the opportunity to expand and improve my engineering capabilities and well as personal growth. Also, who’s going to turn down the opportunity to work with the great people of Missouri. 😊

• Tell us about your career path prior to working at USSM.

My career path prior to USSM was quite unique. I spent 5 years in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, working for the largest cobalt producer in the world. This experience allowed me to work for a large international company and gain engineering experience from the ground level upwards. Living as an expat in the DRC and collaborating with the local Congolese was a truly enriching experience, and I acquired a wealth of knowledge and skills during my time there.

• How do you achieve success in your role?

My success in my role at USSM is a collective achievement, thanks to the unwavering support of the entire USSM team. From the bottom to the top, we work together, and it's this collaborative spirit that ensures success for all of us.

“The world isn’t fair and it will never be.”
