Meet Xavier, the dedicated IT Manager who leads SHEIN's European operations with enthusiasm. While Xavier has a background in International Trade, his passions for tech and fashion have made him a natural fit in IT at SHEIN. Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?

I was born in France and studied International Trade. After traveling and working in the field for a few years, I decided it was time for some new adventures and settled in Dublin. I’ve absolutely loved it here for the last 20 years!

How did you get into this industry?

Originally, I was working in the import/export sector. After some reflection, I changed my career path and joined the IT world quite some time ago. I have always been a tech person at heart, so it was a natural move for me. Sometimes you have to try a few things to really find out your interests and what’s most rewarding for you!

I'm no stranger to the fashion industry, either - during one of my past tenures as an import specialist, I worked with a French fashion retailer. The business side always fascinated me, but nowadays I'm really at home in the IT domain. I joined SHEIN as an IT Manager in December 2022.

What is your role at SHEIN and what does your typical work look like? 

I am now the IT Manager for SHEIN in Europe. My typical work day starts with replying to messages and prioritizing our service tickets so we can respond to our colleagues’ issues as quickly as possible.

As the day progresses, we catch up on less urgent issues, think of improvements for our department and strategize for our many ongoing projects. When time allows, I train myself in new technologies to stay up-to-date in our ever-evolving business.

What excites you the most about SHEIN's future?

SHEIN is a company that’s evolving quickly, motivating you to think quickly and efficiently. It’s really refreshing to work in a company that listens to your ideas, gives you the necessary tools and ownership to deliver on your work and is constantly improving itself. SHEIN is a place where I’ve already learned so much in a short period of time. I’m looking forward to learning even more to help our users at the highest possible standards.

Describe the SHEIN team in one word, and why?

Brilliant. I chose this word because, first of all, it's an Irish expression to describe something very positive but also something fantastic. It is a great place for me because I have met tons of friendly, smart, dynamic and very helpful people during my 8 months here.
