Coffee is in hot demand in the United States. Coffee chains across the country reported a 5.1% increase in traffic since 2023.

To address labor shortages and rising costs, restaurants have increasingly adopted new technologies. This year, the use of ordering kiosks are up 238%, while self-checkouts have increased by 235%.

New restaurant openings were up 6% since May 2023, however, this is a slight decrease from the year prior.

The majority (78%) of Americans now view fast food as a “luxury”. This perception has led 62% of American consumers to eat at QSRs less frequently.
