The most useful resources for sports clubs

There are so many fantastic resources available for sports clubs at the moment, so I thought I would collate some of my favourites into one post to help you find the right support for you.  Let’s dive in!

1. Sport England Club Matters provides a huge range of online resources covering everything from safeguarding to facility development, from participant development to financial management, and much more. Plus they have training workshops available to bring the online resources to life.

2. National Governing Bodies all have their own selection of support available for clubs.  England Rugby has a whole section on their website dedicated to advice on running your club.  The ECB also has a part of their website dedicated to support for clubs including the importance of creating welcoming environments.  England Football has a hub of online resources available through their club programme plus Equal Game supported by Barclays provides online resources and workshops to support clubs wishing to develop their offer for women and girls.  For other sports, check out your NGB’s website and they’re bound to have something similar.

3. Active Partnerships are a great source of funding, insight, and resources across multiple sports and physical activity opportunities.  Find your local partnership here to see how they can support your club and your future ambitions.

4. Sport Sister (obviously!) Our range of resources available to support clubs is constantly growing and evolving.  We have weekly blog posts like this one, the Sport Sister Podcast, and our monthly newsletter (sign up on our home page). Plus we’re always keen to chat with any clubs that need additional support or advice.

5. Women in Sport have a huge amount of research and advice on their website that could be helpful for your club. Case studies, research reports, and toolkits covering a huge range of subjects.  This insight can be a great tool when it comes to planning a project or applying for funding.

Are there any other resources for clubs that you’d like to recommend?  Please send them over and I’d love to be able to share them with other clubs.
