National Employee Wellness Month

June is National Employee Wellness Month. This is a time to focus on what you can offer your employees to help them thrive. Prioritizing wellness and developing healthy coping mechanisms for whatever they might face in their daily lives, your employees can be equipped to face each day renewed!

Here are few activities and resources you can offer your employees to celebrate Employee Wellness Month:

·       The Create It Challenge – spend 500 minutes during the month of June pursuing a creative passion. Ex: play music, write poetry, learn a dance, create a painting, draw a picture, garden, decorate – there is no limit… it just needs to be FUN!

·       Address all areas of Well-Being

o Emotional

§ Teach Mindfulness and Emotional Resilience – mindfulness is a state of being present in the moment, aware of your thoughts, and the absence of judgement. Emotional resilience is the ability to redirect your mind following a difficult situation.

o  Financial – money, of course, is a huge source of stress. Employees may be enduring more financial stress than you are aware of in the work setting. Offering them resources to address those financial issues serves as a trusted source of information.

o Physical – physical activity releases endorphins and combats stress, depression, and anxiety. Encourage your team to engage in physical activity daily as well as hosting challenges to achieve fitness goals.

§ Step challenge

·       Purpose – Encourage Mission Statements
