New Technology for Bolting Sequence Control & Traceability of Bolt Production & Tightening Record, Monitoring Bolt Tightness Condition Remotely

By Utilizing the programmable Controller (TCA) along with the patented complements of Transmitting Socket (TS) + Sensing Bolt (SB) + Transmitting Socket (TC) Or Torque Transducer with RFID Reader (TTR) + Tagged Bolt (TB)

Procedures:

1.     Preload the SB with TS or TB with TTR & Socket, clock-wisely or counter-clock-wisely. The bolt production record can be read and verified. Moreover, the sequence will be defined sequentially by predetermined programmable sequence.

2.     Start bolting; the operator ID will be read and recorded by TS or TTR. The Controller (TCA) will then actuate the tool to drive the TS or TTR for tightening the SB or TB. When tightening, the correct bolting sequence for the SB or TB will all be guided and instructed by the Controller (TCA) and the torque to be applied on each bolt as well as for each round will be recorded.

3.     The Controller will not actuate the tool if the operator does not follow the programmed SOP mentioned above. Each bolt to be fastened to the predetermined % of its final target torque at each round and then move to the next round until the torque fulfilled.

4.     The operator ID will be recorded with each bolt and each run he executed for identify the responsibility if there is any controversy about the quality issue.

5.     All data about bolt ID with its production information such as the manufacturer ID, the material, the batch no., the bolt grade, etc. are all traceable.

6.     All data about bolt tightening result, such as the operator ID, the real time tightening condition, i.e. the torque applied or clamping force induced during each run at each bolt by which operator will be recorded and traceable afterward.

7.     All information will be recorded in the memory unit which can be output by USB or RS232 to peripheral devices or even the Cloud Server through Internet.

8.     After SB tightened, a Transmitting Cap (TC) will be attached to keep supplying the power to the SB and transmitting the sensed strain signal in real time. The second Transmitting Cap will be located within 20M or a powerful one~HPTC can be installed to reach farther to 40KM as a Repeater and via an IoT Gateway for further remote monitoring the bolt tightening condition. As soon as the clamping force varied over the predetermined threshold due to vibration or any other reason or low battery power occurred, the SB will alert automatically.
