New Year's Resolutions
What the new year brings to you will depend a great deal on what you bring to the new year. Vern McLellan
Have you already made your new year's resolution for 2019? Or did you give up on promises cause you can't keep them?
Having a goal for 2019 is a great thing, as long as you don't confuse goals with wishes.
A wish is something we hope will become true in the near future.
A goal is instead connected to a plan, and more importantly, it's specific and pragmatic.
Any vague target will remain vague. That's why "exercise more" and "lose weight" never work.
"Running 5K" or "Losing 5 pounds" is a totally different thing.
Put your object on paper, and then decide if it's short-term, medium-term, or long-term.
A year is pretty long, and you can reach more than a single achievement.
Draw a timeline with different resolutions, and be practical about deadlines.
Then outline what you need to do to accomplish every target.
The rise of a new year is a great moment to put all thing in perspective.
I hope 2019 will be your best year so far, and I wish you to achieve everything you have on your agenda!
Happy new year!
