Next business week in the Bulgarian pavilion

The business calendar in December starts with topics dedicated tо the circular economy. The panel discussion will be held on the 13th of December from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm in the Bulgarian pavilion.

 „Hunting for carbon: What is CO2 exactly? How does it affect our planet and what can we do to stop it?“ – this is the topic of the presentation by Nadia Paneva. She is working on her doctoral thesis in the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and investigating the large-scale planetary processes in the Earth’s interior.

 The other lecturers are Dr. Eugenia Kovatcheva, an Assoc. Prof. at the University of Library Study and Information Technologies (ULSIT) and Assoc. prof. Veselin Chantov PhD. The subject of their presentation is „Green Thinking - Green mindset“. Dr. Kovatcheva and Assoc. prof. Veselin Chantov will hold a lecture on the Bulgarian circular economy and green technologies with a particular focus on new methods and ways of reducing waste and inefficiency of processes; reducing, reuse, and recycling; innovative products; process optimization, and new developments in the private sector.

Dr. Kovatcheva’s background is in telematics applications and learning approaches in education, and training as well as educational technologies. Her areas of interest are Interdisciplinary applied research and innovation, CyberPsychology, Information, Knowledge and Innovation Management, and application of ICT and Cloud Computing in Education and Cyber Security.

Assoc. prof. Veselin Chantov PhD is a graduate of Veliko Tarnovo University in Bulgaria specializing in the Methodology of teaching foreign languages and Translation and Interpreting. His interests are in the field of foreign language teaching and management in education, as well as in lifelong learning, formal and informal education.

The insect industry: a sustainable model of a circular economy or how the industrialization of insects brings a nature-inspired solution to improve the sustainability of our food systems and unfolds powerful low-value streams valorization solutions is the topic of the next online presentation. The lecturer Maria Alexandrova (Dipl. Eng.) is Projects and sustainability manager at Nasekomo Plc - one of the first insect-protein manufacturers in Central and Eastern Europe.

Maria Alexandrova works in investment and R&D projects in the field of industrialization of insect-rearing technologies, robotization, novel insect- products, and applications development. Maria is also developing the topic of the sustainable strategy and impact of the company. Her areas of interest include innovation for sustainability, green entrepreneurship, and circular business models. She has 5 years of experience as a business coach through managing the Bulgarian edition of the largest accelerator for green entrepreneurship in Europe, EIT Climate-KIC Accelerator where she worked with over 120 entrepreneurial teams and assisted 35 of them in developing their sustainable business models as a lead trainer in the program. Maria is a Certified Innovation Promotion Manager from EIT Climate-KIC Certified Professionals.

The third presentation is provocative and innovative - Nadia Paneva will present the diamond semiconductor and how it will possibly revolutionize our world.

Mrs. Paneva has a master’s degree in geology/geochemistry from Sofia University.
