Ninjas take home Best Small Business Award

Ninjas take home Best Small Business Award

That’s right! We won an award!

Whoop whoop!

On the 14th July the Ninjas were one of 88 finalists invited to Wembley Stadium to attend the v-glam National Family Business Awards award ceremony.

After a sumptuous dinner, some pretty rad gift bags and all the table wine, the winners for each of the categories were announced and were one among an array of incredible businesses to bag a prize.

I’m pleased and proud to say that we walked away with Best Small Business (South West).

But this blog isn’t about us patting ourselves on the back (okay, maybe a little bit), it’s really to highlight something we already knew about…

Small businesses are awesome!

There are over 5.7 million small businesses in the UK. These range from micro businesses with just a handful of employees to 250+.

SMEs (small or medium enterprises) account for 99.3% of all private sector businesses in the UK. They also account for 60% of all private sector employment.

This highlights how big corporations are ‘too big to fail’ – taking up 40% of the work force while occupying 0.7% of the market means a collapse would be a disaster. But it also highlights how incredibly important SMEs are to the economy.

They hold the economy together.

They are critically important to the country’s long term economic future not to mention an instrumental part in its ethical and environmental one too.

We’ve known this for a while which is why we’ve committed ourselves to changing the world by enhancing one small business at a time through helping them understand customer behaviour for ethical and profitable automation.

In short, we want to make businesses awesome by helping them say the right things to their perfect customers so they enjoy long, happy and profitable relationships. Without any of that nasty hard sell nonsense.

This is why things like the Family Business Awards are so important because – quite frankly – small businesses deserve the recognition.

No small business owner starts a business to make piles or money. That’s always nice but it’s also the end result. It isn’t why they get out of bed in the morning – or at least it shouldn’t be.

They start a business because they have identified a way that they can provide a service or product that makes the lives of their customers better.

Building a business from the ground up can mean long hours, no weekends, significant financial risk and your family may start to forget who you are. But that hasn’t stopped the 5.7 million business owners in the UK from trying.

Of course, not all succeed but the ones that do deserve to be celebrated because they not only provide services to their customers, they keep people in jobs and the economy running smoothly. They also keep the exchequer nicely topped up with revenue, which isn’t something many big corporations can claim.

That could be because the likes of Amazon have better accountants or it could be because the vast majority of small business owners believe in paying their way.

Regardless we think small businesses are rad and we love working with them. That’s why we’d like to dedicate our award to all our amazing clients because they help us be awesome.
