Interviewer: Mini introduction to yourself

My name is Liping. I have been in iZeeM as a junior engineer for 7 months now. When I am off work, I like to read books and attend musical concerts. 

I am Xiu Ting, a Solution Engineer in iZeeM and I have just started for about 1 month now. Besides work, I enjoy reading novels and watching air crash investigation documentary.

Interviewer: Why did you choose engineering as your career?

Liping: I like to make use of the technology I learnt from school and provide solutions to make people’s lives easier.

Xiu ting: Everything is possible, there is no correct answer to the problem statement in engineering. Also, because of the diverse nature of engineering, there will always have opportunities to develop new skills.

Interviewer: Liping, what resources do you use to keep up with the newest engineering technology and developments? Xiu Ting, what do you do to manage your time and stay on schedule for a project?

Liping: I usually subscribe to high tech companies on LinkedIn and attend their webinars to keep up with the changing technology. Besides that, I gain quite a bit of knowledge by reading blogs and articles on the latest research and staying contact with peers in the same field every now and then.

Xiu ting: After defining the problem statement by understanding customer and business requirements, I will create a Gantt Chart to schedule the timeline of a project. With this chart, I can work around deadlines and properly allocate resources. Using this process has kept me on time and continues to improve what to prioritize and my time-management skills.
