NVIDIA GTC Preview: Generative AI at Scale, an R&D Story Starring our AI Alien, "Wormhole"

Last year, our AI-powered talking alien Wormhole crash-landed onto the scene, making headlines on the ground at AWS re:Invent followed by more coverage at CES, including a deep dive into the tech over at Digiday.

Wormhole is charismatic and humorous, as you’d expect for an ambassador to extra-terrestrials (and conversational robots) everywhere. As the VP, Head of Engineering at Media.Monks, I am most excited about the technology that makes Wormhole tick, and I’m proud to lead the teams who are bringing such groundbreaking experiences to life for brands and enterprises.

A talking animatronic from out of this world is impressive in and of itself, but we can do so much more with conversational technology and generative AI. A great example is our collaboration with Burger King for the Million Dollar Whopper Contest, in which we built a platform that brings your wildest Whopper creations to life using a natural-language interface. Simply speak your vision into existence, no culinary skills required. This experience, like Wormhole, is a custom AI solution that leverages a handful of technologies (in this case, advanced language, image and audio generation technologies) packaged in a bespoke AI-powered pipeline.

So, I’m excited to attend NVIDIA GTC March 18-21, where I’ll be the wingman to everyone’s favorite smooth-talking alien. You’ll be able to find Wormhole and me over at the AWS booth, where we’ll greet attendees as they enter the conference center. After chatting with people on the floor, I will take the stage on March 20 at 10 am PST alongside our VP, Head of Technology Peter Altamirano and Gregoire Rouyer, Global Partner Strategy Lead at AWS. There, we’ll dive into how we’re translating cutting-edge AI prototypes into practical solutions for enterprise brands. Don’t miss our session!

But before the madness begins, here’s a sneak peek at some of the technologies that power Wormhole and some of our innovations:

  • Speech-to-text models that allow Wormhole to recognize what’s being said
  • Text-to-speech models that allow Wormhole to communicate back naturally
  • Our bespoke complex Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solution to enhance language capabilities
  • Image recognition capable of identifying speakers through lip and eye movements
  • Sound recognition for spatial awareness
  • Eight motors and lifelike silicon skin to enable realistic movement

Each of these technologies unlocks incredible possibilities on their own, but it’s only when you put them all together that the magic happens. That’s why my team is laser-focused on blending best-in-class digital talent and the most innovative AI tools, APIs and models, joined together across highly orchestrated pipelines. Through these efforts, we’ve built unparalleled experiences with Monks.Flow, an AI-centric, professional managed service for marketers that streamlines how people and AI work together by connecting AI, enterprise software and microservices into efficient, automated workflows.

Come see us at GTC to learn more and see our AI technology in action—Wormhole and I would love to see you!

Exciting times ahead with NVIDIA GTC and the AWS team! Can't wait to see all the groundbreaking Generative AI solutions. 🔥
