Community Offshore Wind Submits Proposal for New York’s Fourth Offshore Wind Solicitation
Yesterday, Community Offshore Wind submitted a proposal in response to NYSERDA’s fourth offshore wind solicitation. Combined with our existing provisionally awarded project, this proposal puts Community Offshore Wind on track to generate more than $4.4 billion in direct economic benefits over the projects’ lifetimes.
Alongside our existing $41 million dollar investment, our second proposal includes nearly $50 million in workforce and community investments, including $15 million to assist workers with childcare, transportation and other supportive services.
In total, between our two projects Community Offshore Wind would provide a total of 2.6 GW of renewable energy to the state, powering hundreds of thousands of New York homes. We’re proud to play a role in New York’s clean energy transition and we look forward to working with our partners in Albany and communities across New York to deliver clean energy and good jobs.
