Instead of Windfall taxes, maybe companies should be incentivized to research alternative fuels, carbon capture, energy storage etc. This way companies will be induced to spend surplus monies in technologies that will see a) the company grow, ensure durability, and diversify, b) be more sustainable and grow jobs, and c) be of benefit to all humanity.
