ONE VIDEO GOT ME 3211 SUBSCRIBERS... And it's not over!
So here goes the entire strategy:
𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 #𝟭) 𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗞𝗣𝗜
So when I was recording this video, my GOAL was simple. I wanted to build the subscriber base. The most important KPI for me while shooting the video was Subscribers.
There are times when I record videos with other KPI's like - Psychological Inception, Building the Narrative, etc. But for this one, it was purely aimed at growing the Subscribers and hitting the 3rd Dimension of marketing.
So once my KPI was set, I moved to step #2.
𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 #𝟮) 𝗞𝗲𝘆𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴
Although my Goal was to Grow the Subscribers by promoting this video as an Ad Campaign... I also wanted to leverage the Organic Traffic on YouTube by tapping into the right keywords.
So after doing some keyword research and using some common sense, I zeroed down on 3 keywords with fairly decent search volume.
Now that the keywords were finalized, I moved into step 3.
𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 #𝟯) 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴
Now during this phase, most marketers study the competition. They study the existing top ranking content and try to add new pointers to what's already there.
But I follow a different approach and that's why most viewers who go through my videos/content put all the marketers in one bucket and me in a different bucket.
So here is my approach to content planning:
I don't do any research on existing content out there. I begin with a blank sheet and list down everything that the viewer would want to know about the existing topic.
Then from that list, I pick 3 or 4 most important Pain Points the viewers would want the answers to... And that becomes the core of my content.
But remember this, the whole video is based on 1 BIG Idea, and the 3 or 4 points are just a part of the BIG Idea.
𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 #𝟰) 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁
When it comes to videos, scripting your content is equally important.
You cannot just talk and share information with scripting your video and expect it to generate a lot of Subscribers.
So I worked on making the Script as tight as possible using the Final Dip Approach and the CUB process, something I teach in detail in the Content Writing Bootcamp and the 3 Months Digital Marketing Course.
𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 #𝟱) 𝗗𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗮 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿
The last and the most important part of creating a video that has the potential to generate a ton of subscribers is - Building the Characters for your Script & Video and Adding Drama.
You see, there are so many videos out there on YouTube, the end user attention span is just a few seconds... So how do you get someone to watch your video and stick to it for long?
Well, you do that 𝗯𝘆 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗥𝗔𝗠𝗔 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗧𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼𝘀.
Which is exactly what I did for this video by playing a different character which was purely built on Drama.
You see, a couple of people even commented saying, "The content is good but why do you do so much Drama?"
But over 95% of the people who watched it loved the Drama. And at the end of the day, the video achieved it KPI, which is generating Tons and Tons of Subscribers at a CRAZY Low Cost.
Now all the future videos that we roll out will follow the same iteration.
Hope this helps you in your Video Marketing!
