Orlando Gaming and IX Association
I have had this dream for over a year now and could really use your input. I am currently involved with 4 separate gaming related events that will take place in Orlando. All being set up and run individually, most of which will attract the same industry partners and audience. The Orlando Gaming and Interactive Experience crowd is growing rapidly and thriving. Our community is being recognized nationally as a top tier destination yet we have no singular voice to aid with its growth.
Imagine if we could unite under one umbrella?
Imagine an organization that utilizes its combined strengths to educate, promote, mentor and support its members?
Imagine the strength of an organization that promotes and encourages growth in the Orlando region?
Imagine the ubiquitous tradeshows, conferences and panels, a database of local companies and start- ups, daily updates via social media and all useful information in one spot to stay focused on our community?
Imagine an organization that provides training, both technical and educational for the next generation of Game and tech professionals?
Imagine an organization that works together to bring focus, as well as jobs to local economy?
Imagine an organization that is strong enough to supply a voice and lobby our local officials on behalf of our community?
This is the dream. I have spoken to numerous individuals who tell me they would love such an organization. However, actually starting this endeavor bring up numerous questions. The largest of which is how to find funding to support the man hours needed to make this dream a reality.
Other communities have done it, why can’t we? I am eager to hear your thoughts regarding The Orlando Game & IX Association. Is it realistic? Would it help you and your company? What would you want to see this organization do for you? Would you be willing to pay annual dues to be a part of an organization such as this? What are the benefits? What are the hurdles to overcome?
Please take a moment to give us your thoughts. You can reply via social media or directly to my email at rwcoble@gmail.com I look forward to hearing from you.

8yOrlando gaming is a great community for students. It is not, however, a place where small business can easily grow and thrive. That needs to be a major focus in order to prevent all talent from leaving Orlando the second they can get a decent job. We need more studios like Outhouse Games who create jobs and grow over time. These large networking events will not pay off for a community of enthusiasts and students unless it's a job fair(which further removes talent from Orlando).
My unique experiences in life, professionally and personally, allow me to be an asset where music and technology are involved.
8yGetting Orlando to GDC- What money or business did that generate last year? Of the companies who went, which ones have released games or seen profit? Why are we trying to get Orlando to GDC instead of working on Orlando's game developers releasing successful games, growing teams, and generating profit?

8yBelieve you know that people have been working on this. Already have the top executives interested and involved. Just need bandwidth. Let's work together!
