Our COVID-19 Response

Our COVID-19 Response

With our presence in local communities and our commitment to healthcare transformation, CVS Health is uniquely positioned to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the last several months, our nearly 300,000 dedicated colleagues at CVS Health joined forces to make a meaningful impact on our nation’s fight against COVID-19.

Today, I’m proud to share a new report summarizing the incredible impact of our company and colleagues over the last several months. CVS Health’s impact on the pandemic is the result of a devoted team working together toward our purpose of helping people on their path to better health and embracing innovative thinking amid the most critical public health challenge of our lifetime.

From the start, we took immediate action to keep our employees and customers safe. Our colleagues have several resources available to help address hardships in times of crisis, including access to the Employee Relief Fund, which provides short-term, immediate financial relief in the form of tax-exempt grants. We also worked closely with local communities to understand their immediate, longer-term and long-lasting needs presented by the impact of the pandemic. We acted quickly to respond to those needs, addressing food insecurity, access to telehealth and personal protective equipment, and behavioral health support for front-line workers. We are also continuing to support access to affordable healthcare, extending our support to low-cost and free clinics that have found themselves fighting against the disproportionate impact of COVID-19.

CVS Health has also been a national leader in increasing access to testing. We swiftly brought critical testing capabilities to more than 1,900 sites across the country, and today, we proudly serve as the nation’s largest private-sector provider of COVID-19 testing. Nearly sixty percent of these CVS Pharmacy test sites serve communities with significant need for support, as measured by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Social Vulnerability Index. And to further support communities in significant need, we worked with our community partners and elected leaders to help share public health information and established community-based rapid COVID-19 testing locations. These testing sites aim to help address the disparities in health outcomes we’ve seen within Black and Brown communities during this pandemic by increasing access to testing and helping to stop the spread of the virus.

Our commitment to helping the communities we serve during the pandemic is unwavering. We will continue to find meaningful ways to support our employees, patients, customers and partners nationally and in the communities we serve. Really? Then how come your stores don't enforce mask wearing for customers. And many of your employees at my local store on Reservoir Ave. don't cover their noses. I've asked them to and they say they can't breathe which is total nonsense, As a result I haven't been into any of your stores since May.
