PAY YOUR TEAM

In the world of events I think I had the best launching pad available to start my career.

DJ'ing school parties

It was great! All the pizza and cake I wanted and I got paid to dance and play music.

I’ve been extremely fortunate that at my peak I was doing over 30 school events a year myself. But I’ve expanded my company to cover a lot of other event arenas over the years and I’m not available to do those parties myself anymore. Since these events were my bread and butter when I started, I wanted to maintain those contacts I’ve worked so hard to establish over the years. So I had to hire and train other DJ’s to work under me.

I had to find young people who could not only Dj but be responsible around kids. When I started to do this I made one rule for myself.

If you find someone you trust, pay them well.

If you have somebody reliable, who understands your mission and pursues it with the same energy and enthusiasm that you would if you were there, you need to keep that person around. Gig by gig worked is filled with...let’s face it...flighty people. Flighty people lose you clients.

You cannot lowball people that are dedicated

Dedication comes at a cost

That cost is a sense of comfort because remember… YOUR NOT THERE

You need quality performers or quality acts to step up and do a good job for you every single time. And the best way you can do that is pay them appropriately.

Reliability in a gig economy...is priceless.
