June has been a high-flying month – and not only for the news that we will be helping build an airport in the Caribbean, but also thanks to our Annual Shareholder Meeting, an event marked in red in the calendar at which we once again could underline the importance of regenerative infrastructure in driving societal progress. And we have a surprise for you: a video, prepared with much love, looking back over the last 20 years of the Company’s pioneering activities. JOSÉ MANUEL ENTRECANALES AT THE ANNUAL SHAREHOLDER MEETING: “ACCIONA’S MODEL IS MORE NECESSARY THAN EVER”

This month we held our Annual General Meeting (AGM, at which we once again demonstrated why our business model speeds up sustainable development in the communities where we work. It’s a fact that, over the past 20 years, we have tripled our stock value, quadrupled EBITDA and multiplied net earnings two-and-a-half. All the while reducing emissions, proving that our Business As Unusual model works.

JOSÉ MANUEL ENTRECANALES RANKS AS “SPAIN’S MOST HIGHLY VALUED CEO”

And our way of doing business is increasingly recognized, reinforcing our will to strive on. Independent consultants Brand Finance chose our Chairman and CEO José Manuel Entrecanales as Spain’s “Best CEO” following a study interviewing journalists, financial analysts and informed observers about who they think are the world’s most successful chief executives in terms of safeguarding brand value.

ACCIONA TO BUILD THE FIRST RUNWAY AT THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC’S NEW INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

As we were saying at the beginning, it’s been a high-flying month. We are delighted to help drive social and economic progress in the Caribbean with the construction of part of the Dominican Republic’s new international airport.

It is estimated that, once operating, the airport will be used by around a quarter of a million passengers a year.

ACCIONA ENERGÍA SIGNS PPA WITH VIDRALA TO SUPPLY RENEWABLE ENERGY TO ITS PLANTS IN SPAIN AND PORTUGAL

Reducing emissions from industrial processes represents one of humanity’s main challenges. Our #ACCIONAteam is only too aware of this and is signing agreements to this effect with its industrial partners, such as this one with Vidrala, which will avoid the emission of 150,000 metric tons of CO2 to the atmosphere and cover 20-25% of the company’s electrical needs.

JAVIER VALLHONRAT LAUNCHES ‘FIELDNOTES’, A PHOTOESPAÑA EXHIBITION PROMOTED BY ACCIONA AND SPAIN’S NATIONAL HERITAGE AGENCY

If you like art and how it interrelates with nature, why not visit an exhibition by photographer Javier Vallhonrat, “Field Notebooks”, sponsored by our Company and National Heritage at the 2024 PHotoESPAÑA festival.

It’s free to visit until 29 September at the Royal Collection’s Immersive Cube Gallery, Campo del Moro, Madrid, and then at La Granja Palace, Segovia (Spain).

Sushana Karki is geospatial manager for ACCIONA Energía in Australia. Trained as a botanist, her current post deals with environmental concerns where she contributes her knowledge of GIS to planning, development and construction of renewable energy plants. A new way of looking will always yield a different and, on many occasions, significant result. Sushana is herself an example of this.
