A Pledge to an Enduring Love this Valentines Day
I had the most magical surf this weekend at Cape Woolamai which is located on Victoria’s Southeast coast. It was breathtakingly beautiful out there. The sun shining through clear green-blue water, clean waves rolling through and a wide expanse of ocean on either side. Cliff faces in the distance; the colour of earth juxtaposed against the water, both more beautiful because of the contrast of each other. The laughs, genuine smiles, and joy of a community of surfers. Nature providing deep nourishment for the body, mind, and soul.
And as I thanked Mother Nature while touching my heart before catching my last wave in, I surprised myself by crying. I was crying joyful tears for the beauty of what I was seeing and feeling. But also crying sad tears for what Mother Nature has already lost and may lose more of if action is not taken sooner rather than later. All I could do was promise her I will do my bit and do my best to inspire others to do theirs.
I know the environmental crisis can feel overwhelming but do not let that be an excuse for inaction. What small change could you take today to have a positive impact? Or to reduce your environmental footprint in a small way? From small things big things grow.
