The Power of Mentorship

The Power of Mentorship

At Warby Parker, we believe businesses and communities thrive when our teams are inclusive, equitable, and diverse. Mentorship plays a critical role in that, and our employee resource group dedicated to the LGBTQ+ community, PRISM, is excited to support LGBTQ+ refugees through The Tent Partnership for Refugees and the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.

The Tent Partnership for Refugees is a network of over 140 major companies committed to integrating refugees, and the Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRC) is the educational arm of the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer civil rights organization. Altogether, 23 companies have collectively made the commitment to provide mentorship opportunities to more than 1,250 LGBTQ+ refugees.

At Warby Parker, our goal has always been to create an environment where our teams can bring their authentic selves to work. With our commitment to Tent over the next three years, our hope is that we can provide that same support to the LGBTQ+ refugee community as they seek new and continued employment opportunities.

Reggie Rossobillio–a Recruiter and member of PRISM–has participated as a mentor since the program kicked off in January 2020. Reggie shares, “The opportunity to mentor within my own community and help someone make progress against their goals, all while knowing that they are welcome to be exactly who they are, is the kind of belonging I wanted to be able to extend.”
