Presenting the first edition of #NbS4India Connect - a bi-monthly India Forum for Nature-based Solutions newsletter.

Nature-based solutions (NbS) are actions that protect, sustainably manage, or restore natural ecosystems. They have emerged globally as a cost-effective approach that can address climate induced challenges while also providing social and economic co-benefits. This newsletter is an effort to raise awareness about urban NbS in India, by bringing you related news, articles, interviews, case studies and more.

Share Inputs to Improve Mumbai’s First Greening Handbook

The Garden Department of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), with WRI India as knowledge partner, recently unveiled the city’s first ever greening handbook. Offering end-to-end guidance on planting saplings across all scales – from balcony garden boxes to large plots – the Handbook caters to all groups including homeowners, resident welfare associations (RWAs), organisations, and municipal authorities. BMC is inviting feedback to further improve the Handbook with a formal launch slated for later this year.
