THE PRICE OF DEMOCRACY:IN MODERN TIMES

"All of humanity are in a state of endless and restless desire for power - which stops only by death".
                     HOBBES

Be it federalism, Monarchy, Aristocracy, socialism,Communism, Dictatorship or Democracy- Which is the best form of governance???. We may argue the Pros & Cons of each system; however over 200yrs every above mode of governance has be tried and tested. The first three were disastrous which led to French Revolution, Russian Revolution, The Glorious Revolution & Taiping Revolution reason being all rights, privileges were only for the powerful and the rich...thus the need to rise up.

The seed of revolution is repression

Lest we forget that it was from the French Revolution (FRET) that the rights of Man were known which granted political liberty, like freedom of speech, press, association, worship and ownership of property. Although they were abused during the reign of terror, they became foundation of freedom. After the cold war communism and socialism "died" allowing democracy in the name of capitalism to rule the world. The Arab Uprising was suppose to ensure dictatorship no longer exist in our world today, sadly the uprising were hijack by foreign forces in the name of CIA & NATO operatives who made sure this main objective is never realized.

In short people have been yearning for democracy since the past, nowadays our governments are more less democratic in paper though in reality its another story. The price of democracy is proving to be too expensive in our times, we live in an age where terrorism (ISIS) are dictating the way we live our lives making our governments impotent. Also the refugee crisis has led to more strict regulation and security measures be undertaken by most countries e.g the EU.

Also country strikes by trade unions which have threaten country economy collapse have also been witnessed just in the name of democracy (Greece, France & Zimbabwe). We are living in a time where personal interests are more greater than the common good, now the question is how will the state react to this???

Most governments have resounded in using unethical ways to "govern" they subjects and also to protect the country interests. In USA they use NSA to do the dirty job, in Israel through they aggressive nature and media censorship they keep oppressing the rights of the Palestine, In china the case in Taiwan, Hong kong and south sea, In Russia the went to Ukraine and took Crimea. Now in Turkey they failed Coup is being turned to "witch hunting" which to me the arrests and threats will lead to more uprisings.

Democracy is founded on freedom and rights, basically the power belong to the people, the state is only the custodian and protector of these rights, the OWNER is the people. If the people choose Brexit its legal and valid, if they are for LGBT they should be allowed to argue the case, If they want to cross over to other countries like in Venezuela-Columbia case they should be allowed.

Nowadays democracy comes with a cost Freedom House can agree with me, Multinationals, Military industry and cartels are running our governments were saw in Libya case. Thus we need more Martin Luther's, Mandela's & Gadhis.

To the Snow-dens ,Malalas, Lamas, Jasmines out there keep the fight on.History has shown that the freedom and rights of the people will trump and Trump himself is done case he represent what democracy is surely not.

Democracy cannot consist solely of elections that are nearly always fictitious and managed by rich landowners and professional politicians
