Companies can only strive when they attract and serve customers well. To achieve this critical mission, companies rely on the support of employees or contractors.
Let's talk about Employee Inclusion with my fantastic guest Dr. Melba N. Sullivan
Dr. Melba, can you tell us about your business and passion?
Sure. My business is Freedom Flow Solutions, and we partner with companies to promote employee engagement and thriving organizations.
I am passionate about human-centered in workplaces. I'm supporting leaders and teams in building relationships where everybody feels seen, heard, and valued.
One of my orienting statements is, "There is wisdom that sits in every seat."
Everybody's lived experience is seen, valued, respected, and is a part of how we co-create and innovate to move forward with ease.
It is vital to support employee well-being in a way that promotes business flow.
What do you think about Inclusion in general or Inclusion in technology?
It is required in general and in technology. I'll start with the technology piece first.
Part of the reason it's required in technology is that technology is a key process for expanding Inclusion. It is all about integrity as technology truly expands accessibility for all.
My son identifies as neuro-expansive. So, I think it is crucial to include everyone:
➡️No matter what their learning styles are,
➡️No matter what their identities are,
➡️No matter what their unique seeing/unseen and determined identities are.
Companies with inclusive workspaces are more impactful and successful.
Also, I support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Here is a secret:
Most people's workplace stress is connected to their identities.
It is connected to how their companies are or are not creating space for them to show up fully or be in choice about how much they want to show up in terms of who they are.

Stress and low innovation increase when people:
➡️Are not provided with the same information as others
➡️Don't feel seen, heard, or valued.
In turn, this can:
➡️Undermine creation and connection
➡️Lead to turnover, absenteeism
➡️Lead to lower profits
