Current Cybersecurity News and Alerts

The Cybersecurity Infrastructure and Security Agency (CISA), the National Security Agency (NSA), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC) released a joint guide, Phishing Guidance: Stopping the Attack Cycle at Phase One. The joint guide outlines phishing techniques malicious actors commonly use and provides guidance for both network defenders and software manufacturers to reduce the impact of phishing techniques used in obtaining credentials and deploying malware.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has issued a cautionary alert regarding a surge in 'dual ransomware attacks,' a menacing tactic where victims fall prey to not one, but two ransomware strains in swift succession. These attacks employ a mix of ransomware variants, including AvosLocker, Diamond, Hive, Karakurt, LockBit, Quantum, and Royal, often in various combinations. World Trade Center New Orleans Trade Mission to Ireland

The CEO of GlobeNet, Kevin B. Gray, participated in the World Trade Center New Orleans (WTCNO) business trade delegation to Ireland.

With a primary focus on technology and health sciences, the attendees delve into the prospects of growth and advancement for businesses based in Louisiana. They engaged with prominent Irish enterprises to establish a solid groundwork for attracting business ventures to Louisiana. The objective is to gain insights into Ireland's prosperous economic expansion and explore various business-to-business (B2B) opportunities. The World Trade Center connected with enterprises in three major cities, Dublin, Galway, and Limerick, as part of their ongoing tradition of organizing trade missions to international markets.

“The Ireland trade mission is exciting on a couple of levels,” said Michael Hecht, President & CEO of Greater New Orleans, Inc. – GNO, Inc. “First, it represents mutual economic opportunity, especially in tech and healthcare. Second, the story of the ‘Celtic Tiger’ is one that can inspire and inform our own strategy here in Greater New Orleans.”
