The benefits of digital screens in shops and cafés are clear: thanks to the latest technology, they can display a wide range of content to help people absorb information and to improve the customer experience. This is also proven by a Norstat survey conducted in April: 59% of 1,000 Lithuanians surveyed say that such technologies not only help customers shop more easily, but they also increase sales. However, these days, the choice of digital screens is so vast, that it is easy for a business to make a mistake by choosing the wrong device.

"Businesses need to think carefully about every step, and they need to do a lot of research when developing a brand and running their business, which is why buying digital advertising screens shouldn't be an impulse investment. Choosing from a very wide range of options and getting a device that does not meet your needs can result in a digital screen that is not used to its full potential, or even a significant and unnecessary waste of money. If this happens, the results will definitely fall short of expectations," says Romualdas Broniukaitis, Head of Business-to-Business Sales at Samsung Electronics Baltics.

They make one significant error

When deciding to buy digital signage, he says, businesses often make the big mistake of making price the main factor. Not only can this approach prevent digital advertising from unlocking its full potential, but it can also put even more pressure on your wallet if the product you buy is of poor quality or does not meet your desired purpose.

"When choosing digital screens for business, there are several common mistakes that companies make. One of the biggest would probably be that a particular screen is chosen for its low price, turning a blind eye to its specifications, quality, or even business needs. While price is a relevant indicator, it should not be the only one. For example, if you bought a low-cost but low-quality digital billboard and placed it outside the entrance, you might regret it on the first rainy day and then have to find the resources for repairs or a new screen," explains the expert.

R. Broniukaitis says that in order to make the most of a digital screen and not just choose one based on price, it is important to think about where the screen will be placed: outside or inside, where passers-by will reach it, whether it will be hung up high, whether everyone will be able to touch it, or whether it should be protected, etc. For example, if, as the expert says, the stand is to be placed outdoors, it would be worth looking for a screen that is resistant to the sometimes extreme weather conditions in Lithuania.

"We need to look for screens that are designed to cope with these conditions. For example, the Samsung OH55A-S digital screen can be placed outdoors without worrying about the weather (rain, snow, humidity) or the picture quality, as this model will provide you with a high-quality view of your content, even on a very sunny day. Choosing screens that don't meet the needs

Another common mistake in the purchase of digital advertising screens is that the devices are not chosen for their intended purpose, so expectations cannot be met. R. Broniukaitis says that, first of all, it is important to clarify your needs and your objectives in choosing an advertising screen.

"Digital screens are a very viable and cost-effective solution for companies that want to stand out and make a lasting impact on their customers. However, you should determine exactly what content you will be using the screen for and choose the most suitable one for you. For example, if you need a screen to display menus in a fast food restaurant, you don't need an outdoor screen or an extra-large one of the types used in arenas. The expert also notes that, conversely, when there is plenty of space for a screen and your main goal is to impress a potential buyer, customer, or even passers-by, it is worth considering a bold, full-wall screen, where the bright images will give a luxurious effect and leave a deep impression. "A digital screen not only provides information to the customer and improves and facilitates the shopping experience, but it can also contribute to the interior of a store or other establishment. Therefore, if you are going to display the screen in a highly visible location or show videos, it is essential that the content is of high quality and clarity. In this way, digital screens will create a certain atmosphere and make customers feel more at ease.
