Renewable Talent and the Crises Ahead for 2023

Renewable Talent and the Crises Ahead for 2023

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results - Albert Einstein

Introduction

Since the early 2000s, renewable energy has been one of the fastest-growing industries in the world. In fact, according to some estimates by Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF), renewable energy is expected to account for as much as 40 percent of all new power generation capacity over the next two decades. The increase in demand for renewables professionals has been driven by several factors: an increased focus on environmental sustainability; more cost-competitive technologies; and changes in government regulations that promote clean energy development over fossil fuels. However, this growth has presented challenges for companies trying to find qualified workers with experience working with these technologies. Because of this shortage of talent, many businesses have had to turn away job applicants or delay projects because they don't have enough people on staff who can build wind turbines or design solar panels.

Renewables talent is in short supply.

Renewables talent is in short supply. The industry is growing rapidly, and it's estimated that over the next decade more than 500,000 jobs will be created worldwide to support renewables development. But the demand for skilled workers is outpacing the supply of qualified candidates by a wide margin--a problem exacerbated by the fact that there aren't enough people with the right skills to fill these jobs.

The growth of this industry creates a huge opportunity for businesses: they can capitalize on this growth by hiring people who have experience with renewable energy technologies or who are passionate about working in the field.

Various organizations have launched programs aimed at addressing this problem and helping businesses find new employees who are qualified for their jobs.

There are a number of programs that aim to address this problem, and help businesses find new employees who are qualified for their jobs.

These include:

  • The Green Jobs Training Program (GJTP), which helps unemployed people with low-level skills find work in the renewables sector;
  • The Wind Energy Digital Workforce Program (WEDWP), which trains people with digital skills needed by the wind industry;
  • The Solar Ready Communities Initiative (SRCCI), which provides training programs for local governments and communities that want to use solar energy effectively.

Conclusion

The renewable energy industry is growing at a rapid pace and companies need people with the right skills to fill open positions in their organizations. While there are many challenges in recruiting talent for this field, it's still a hot career choice for those who want to work towards making the world more sustainable.
