Riveter brings home a national ADDY Award

On Friday, June 2, members of the Riveter team traveled to St. Louis, MO, to accept a Silver ADDY Award at the National American Advertising Awards presented by the American Advertising Federation (AAF). It was an incredible experience and an honor to represent Buffalo among some of the top agencies and brands in the country.

Our award-winning entry was a custom-designed advent calendar that we sent to clients and partners during the 2022 holiday season. The main box housed drawers with twelve smaller boxes, each containing a special gift — ranging from holiday cookie cutters to branded dog treats to an obsidian gemstone disguised as a lump of coal — and a unique message.

The American Advertising Awards — commonly referred to as the ADDYs — is a three-tier competition attracting more than 25,000 entries nationwide. In March, our advent calendar won a Gold Award at the AAF Buffalo awards show. Gold winners from the local competition advanced to the AAF District 2 show, where Riveter was recognized with another Gold Award, competing with agencies from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Washington, DC. Winners from the 15 Districts moved on to the national competition. Riveter was one of two Buffalo agencies to be recognized at the national level.

“Winning awards is never our primary motivation. When we came up with the idea for the advent calendar, our aim was to send our incredible supporters something memorable for the holidays.” said Jordan Hegyi, “But it’s an absolute thrill to receive national recognition from our industry peers, especially for a project that was so meaningful for our agency and fun to put together.”

Awards season kicked off in March, with Riveter bringing home a total of six Gold and Silver awards at the AAF Buffalo Awards show.  

In addition to the Riveter advent calendar, our winning projects included a lenticular event invitation for Sanderson Wealth Management, a custom-designed hockey jersey for Sanderson, the East Side Avenues video series, a mailer for KegWorks promoting their local pickup service, and a website for Afrikabisa Ethical Tours. Check out our Instagram story highlight to scroll through all of our award-winning work.
