Run with it: The story of Figma Slides

Here at Figma HQ, it’s Maker Week—our spin on a company hackathon where we set aside time to work on projects that connect us, inspire us, or bring us joy. In fact, Figma Slides, which we launched at Config 2024, began as a Maker Week project in 2022. In the spirit of making things happen, we’re revisiting the origins of Figma Slides and offering tips for presentations that pave the way from imagination to reality.

Figma Slides was a “sticky” idea.

From idea…

It takes a clear vision to shepherd an idea from a FigJam brainstorm to the Config keynote. With her story, Figma’s Product Manager Mihika Kapoor offers practical advice about how to get exec buy-in, assemble the right team, and most importantly, push for products you truly believe in.

…to reality

Since launching Figma Slides in beta, we’ve been collecting user feedback and building new features. From viewing layers in grid view, to fine-tuned slide transitions, to the ability to skip slides, Mihika walks through 10 new capabilities and how they give you even more control over your presentations.

Designers on deck

Designers from The Browser Company and O3 sound off on how they’re using Figma Slides to solve the pain points of co-presenting, sharpen their narrative, and move work forward.
