Saatchi & Saatchi to Award $10,000 to Four BIPOC Students in 2022, Call for Submissions Now Open
In partnership with the Saatchi Diversity Task Force, Saatchi & Saatchi has launched the Saatchi Scholarship Program. The program is designed to provide financial assistance to creative, strategic, and data analyst students from diverse backgrounds who have a need for financial assistance. Scholarship recipients will be selected by a panel of creatives, strategic managers, data analysts, and talent managers at the agency and beyond.
The $10,000 scholarships will be awarded to four deserving students, with $5,000 dispersed in advance of the fall 2022 semester and $5,000 in spring 2023. In addition to scholarship funds, recipients will be mentored by a Saatchi & Saatchi professional. This includes virtual meetups each month and mentor access via email and text for one year.
“We are living in volatile times with an ongoing pandemic, social injustices and global unrest, all of which we recognize have created financial strains and difficult decisions for students, notably in BIPOC communities,” said Chuck Maguy, Chief Executive Officer at Saatchi & Saatchi Los Angeles and Dallas. “At Saatchi, we believe in investing in the growth and education of our employees and want to extend that to the future leaders of the advertising industry through our scholarship and mentoring program.”
The scholarship funds are intended as an investment in ongoing education of BIPOC students studying art direction, copywriting, production, editing, illustration, marketing strategy, data, or analytics. The agency aims to help the chosen students achieve their personal ambitions and subsidize their school-related expenses. An ideal applicant would be a full-time student at an accredited four-year university, two-year community college, portfolio school, or an art school within the United States who is willing to submit a creative pitch.
Here’s how to enter: Submit a three-minute-or-less video pitch. Submissions should be fun and go beyond the usual way of thinking. The brief video should showcase the applicant’s talent and demonstrate why they would be a fit in creative, production, strategy, or marketing analytics.
Priority will be given to students who demonstrate financial need.
