The main founder of this idea and Sagoon is Govinda Giri which is a Nepali but lives in Washington DC. He operates this application from U.S.

In 2013, he left his daily routine job and open an office at the basement of his house. Then in 2014, the beta version of Sagoon was launched privately by Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala in Washington DC. In November 2015, Nepal PM KP Oli launched Sagoon in public beta in Kathmandu. After this, Sagoon released its desktop version 2.1 in 2016. In 2017, The U.S SEC qualified Sagoon offering to raise funds from general public globally.

Then the android application of Sagoon was launched in 2018 by Shraddha Kapoor, Bollywood actress at The Lalit Hotel in New Delhi. In March 2018, Sagoon launched its desktop version of an android application. In June 2018, Sagoon rolled out Rise and Shine Club for investors and supporters.

Right now, the company is working on the mini-IPO and raised approximately 5 million dollars from 3500+ investors all over the world. The primary goal to launch mini-IPO was to provide every common Indian man an opportunity to own a place of an early stage U.S startup and earn a huge potential financial rewards.

Currently, Sagoon is working ambitiously on a project called Sagoon Smart Card which will allow users to earn money while shopping, redeeming coupons and gifting their loved ones.

A user can post a Secret Story by using this Sagoon application. Each story consists of 220 characters with up to 3 images and a 30-second video for further enhancement. Not only this, you can even hide your personality while posting story by being "Anonymous".
