Samsung Galaxy Z flip: What is?
Growing up as a late 90’s kid or the early 90’s feels like we’ve lived the three great decades till now. We’ve seen absence then introduction and now the adaptability of modern technologies in Pakistan. We have hands on experience of one legend of its own kind Nokia 3310. Even before that we’ve also seen wireless phones having Antenna. Some intellectuals quote it as golden era of Pakistan. But later on as the time passed and technology advanced we were introduced with flip phones be it Nokia 6085, Samsung C417 or Sony Ericsson W380 which almost dominated other competitors.
We’ve also seen the rivalry of sliding and flip phones. But what we missed is our clock being fast enough to welcome The phones we can use by merely touching it. It was so hard to accept for me personally that how can an individual command the cellphone by touching its screen. Quite funny I know. But what we missed is the extinction of flip phones and after we’ve come this far we now look back and think if we could use that remarkable idea again. So no more wishes now as Samsung got you covered.
Introducing Brand new Samsung Galaxy Z flip with folding technology. Wondering how the word “Flip” can fit with touch screen scratch sensitive glass? Let’s show you guys how.
First of all we need to understand how the glass of this Masterpiece survives the bent? Very few of us know that Samsung is using German manufacturer Schott’s mind in the manufacture of its products such as phone’s body and glass. “All the materials we know of that are very rigid can be bent to some extent,” says Schott’s Dr. Mathias Mydlak, a renowned chemist who is now working for the company’s ultra-thin glass. “If you think of wood, a 2x4 cannot be bent, but if you chisel a very fine piece of it It’ll bend for sure, the same is true for glass,”

This is as simple as that but wait here, it’s not simple enough to play with the law of physics. Schott has used polymer with this glass according to him we are not touching the glass directly but through one layer of polymer element which protects the glass from scratches. But why using polymer with glass? Here’s why, the glass used in Galaxy Z flip measures bending radius below 5mm (0.2 inches) remarkably thin. Isn’t it? As Schott said that this ultra thin glass will support you in a long term if it survives the first bent during the test. But if it encounters even a minor scratch, then there’s no guarantee of how far it will go from there. So simply this is the reason to cover the thinnest glass ever with polymer element.
Let’s get to the quick specs overview. This phone has came up with Boss like specification having 73.6 x 87.4 x 17.3mm (Hinge) - 15.4mm (Sagging) when folded and 73.6 x 167.3 x 7.2mm - 6.9mm (Screen) when unfolded. Pocket friendly. Isn’t it? Having 3 luxurious colors Mirror purple, Mirror black and mirror gold. Having dynamic Amoled main display with super Amoled cover display.
Now most importantly and most eye catching part of specifications which is camera obviously.
