Sculpting David
Just chisel away the parts that aren't Chenmark

Sculpting David

We were recently asked if we have an official Board of Directors.  We do not.  Instead, we have relied on our ability to tap our network for specific expertise on an as-needed basis.  This approach may not work for others, but it’s worked for us.

Part of the reason it’s worked for us is that we have always had a very specific vision for Chenmark.  To a certain extent, we are simply executing on the idea we mapped out on our kitchen table back in 2014.  We have a greater need for tactical support than we need help with crafting a strategic roadmap.

It reminds us of an old story.  A young artist asks Michelangelo how to sculpt David.  Michelangelo responds“The sculpture is already complete within the marble block, before I start my work. It is already there, I just have to chisel away the superfluous material.”

To paraphrase Taylor Swift, we know we're not Michelangelo. We're not sculpting David. This ain't the Sistine Chapel [and] we're modern idiots. With that qualification, we do believe we are just chipping away at the superfluous parts of life that aren’t Chenmark.  We have certainty that the final product will reveal itself in due time, and when it does, it will be enduring and beautiful.  Time to get back to chiseling.

Have a great week,

Your Chenmark Team
