Senior Reservoir Engineer Job Description (with 15,000 ft HPHT Experience)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Reservoir Engineer with expertise in high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) environments, specifically with a depth experience of 15,000 ft or greater. As a Senior Reservoir Engineer, you will play a critical role in analyzing and optimizing reservoir performance, ensuring the efficient and sustainable extraction of hydrocarbon resources.

Responsibilities:

1.    Reservoir Analysis and Characterization:

·      Conduct comprehensive reservoir characterization studies, including formation evaluation, fluid analysis, and petrophysical analysis, to determine reservoir properties and behavior.

·      Utilize advanced reservoir modeling techniques to create accurate and dynamic reservoir models, incorporating data from various sources.

·      Analyze reservoir performance and identify areas for improvement or optimization.

2.    Reservoir Management:

·      Develop and implement reservoir management strategies, including well placement, completion design, and production optimization, to maximize hydrocarbon recovery.

·      Evaluate reservoir depletion mechanisms, pressure maintenance strategies, and secondary and tertiary recovery methods to enhance production efficiency.

·      Monitor and analyze well performance through decline curve analysis, pressure transient analysis, and production surveillance to identify potential reservoir challenges and recommend appropriate solutions.

3.    HPHT Experience:

·      Demonstrate expertise in working with high-pressure, high-temperature reservoirs, specifically at depths exceeding 15,000 ft.

·      Understand the unique challenges associated with HPHT environments, such as fluid behavior, rock mechanics, and wellbore stability.

·      Apply advanced engineering techniques to mitigate risks and optimize production in HPHT reservoirs.

4.    Data Analysis and Interpretation:

·      Analyze reservoir and production data, including pressure and production profiles, well tests, and production logs, to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.

·      Interpret complex data sets and integrate them into reservoir models to enhance accuracy and reliability.

5.    Collaboration and Communication:

·      Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including geologists, geophysicists, production engineers, and drilling engineers, to develop integrated reservoir management plans.

·      Effectively communicate technical findings, recommendations, and project updates to stakeholders and management.

·      Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and technical staff.

Requirements:

·      Bachelor's or Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field.

·      Extensive experience as a Reservoir Engineer in the oil and gas industry, with a specific focus on HPHT reservoirs at depths exceeding 15,000 ft.

·      Proficient in reservoir modeling software (e.g., Eclipse, CMG, PETREL) and industry-standard reservoir engineering tools.

·      Strong understanding of reservoir engineering principles, fluid flow, well testing, and material balance.

·      Experience in integrated reservoir studies, history matching, and forecasting.

·      Proven track record of successful reservoir management and optimization projects.

·      Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

·      Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

·      Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

·      Knowledge of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements.

If you possess the required experience and skills, and you thrive in a challenging and dynamic work environment, we encourage you to apply for the position of Senior Reservoir Engineer. Your expertise in high-pressure, high-temperature reservoirs will be instrumental in driving our company's success in hydrocarbon exploration and production.
