Singapore Airlines cancels almost 700 flights worldwide

Singapore Airlines will cut services across its network as the Covid-19 (coronavirus) outbreak causes demand to continue to fall.

Flight SQ481 from Johannesburg to Singapore on April 1 is one of a list of over 650 hundred cancelled flights.

The airline will also cancel selected flights to the New York, Los Angeles and Seattle. Services cancelled to Europe include Frankfurt, Paris, Copenhagen and London.

Flights to Tokyo, Seoul, Jakarta, Penang and Kuala Lumpur in Southeast Asia are affected until the end of May.

The airline says it will monitor the situation and make further adjustments as necessary. Affected customers will be notified and re-accommodated on to other flights.
