Size Matters…. Transaction Size Matters That is…

The bigger, the better… that’s definitely the case when it involves TRANSACTION size: the amount of money you make when a customer completes what you consider to be an average transaction.

This actually matters a great deal and the math involved is quite simple.

Let’s go back to an example from a couple emails back. Say our friend running a Car Repair Shop offers brake jobs for €200 and does about 50 of these per year. That pencils out to €10,000 gross.

That may be perfectly fine. But imagine instead that he decides to create that “Total Road Safety Package” bundle deal… it includes a brake job, but also tosses in a front & rear alignment, 10-step Safety Analysis, maybe an oil change and even a car wash. So it’s a “whole shebang kind of deal” – and it’s just €350.

Maybe he doesn’t do as many of these as before… say 35 a year… but with the higher price that grosses €12,250.

Even superficially, that’s more money. But when you can create bundles that include additional elements that don’t cost you much but have a high perceived value, then your NET on each of these average transactions goes up even higher.

By moving away from selling single items cafeteria style and instead offering package deals of bundled products/services, you’ll be able to increase the average amount of money a customer will invest with you… which makes them better customers and makes you more money.

If the idea of creating bundle offers intrigues you, then why not come to our monthly marketing power event happening 12th February at 6.45pm in the Ballybane Enterprise Centre? You’ll not only get deeper insights (and examples) on how you can apply this powerful strategy, you’ll get to hang out with other like-minded folks similarly focused on improving their businesses.
