SMS, The King of Instant Communication

SMS, The King of Instant Communication

As the world goes #mobile and other platforms such as telemarketing and print start to go the way of the dinosaur, there's a generational divide when it comes to #mobilemarketing.

Today, the choice of #messaging channels for #communication over mobiles between people, devices, and, businesses is greater than ever. Despite the increase in competition, #sms remains the king and as a matter of fact, it continues to grow.

SMS being the only channel to reach people across the globe without the use of the internet on a mobile device, the main factor at play here is the growth of mobile #webtraffic. The percentage of global web traffic on mobile phones has grown rapidly over the past decade. A lot of companies have realized they have a mobile problem: they got more mobile traffic than desktop, yet aren't doing any specific mobile marketing. While a lot of mobile marketing requires significant investment- think building an app; SMS Marketing Campaigns are affordable and easy to set up.

As subscribers acquire new handsets and move to #5g networks, seamless support and continued access to Person-to-Person (P2P) SMS will be mandatory. Application-to-Person (#a2p ) messaging traffic figures indicate that enterprises are eager to use SMS for their #digitalization efforts.

Although SMS is the most basic of operator services, it has still emerged as one of the most powerful methods of reaching customers and communicating with them. As networks transition to 5G, #enterprises and #mobileoperators will have to take advantage of this growing opportunity.

In short, SMS will only continue to grow in importance. In the future, SMS will continue to be an effective channel for enterprises to #engage with customers due to its universal reach and dependability. The 5G rollout will also provide an additional wind of opportunity for SMS thanks to the IoT explosion.

We cannot imagine how the first SMS would impact how we communicate as people and how we interact with businesses today when it was transmitted almost thirty years ago. A rapidly changing telecoms industry will continue to flourish SMS as we move into the 5G era. Hence, SMS is still going to be the undefeated King of Instant communication and engagement.
