Solar Energy booming ..But there are Sunspots and they are getting darker

The heat from the Sun troubled humanity with record breaking temperatures. The same Sun is now providing the record-breaking clean electricity that reduces Green House Gases

  • Latest figure: World gets 6% of its electricity from the solar panels, equivalent to all the electricity consumed by USA in 1954!
  • Installed solar electric capacity is doubling every three years and is now growing  ten-fold each decade. It is nothing short of solar revolution!
  • The next ten-fold increase in installed solar panels will be equivalent to multiplying the world’s entire fleet of nuclear reactors by eight in less than the time it typically takes to build just a single one of them.
  • Solar would be the single largest source of electricity globally by the mid 2030s. The cost of the electricity is expected to be less than half as expensive as the cheapest available today. Did you even dream of this even in your deepest sleep.

Now comes darker Sunspot . What happens to the 'end of life' of solar panel ? .  The International Renewable Energy Agency warns that defunct solar panels could create up to 78 million tons of waste by 2050 if not recycled. Remember excitement of plastic bags and bottles when first introduced? And now it is war between Plastic vs planet!

The innovative power of technology and the youth who can trigger that power can be leveraged :

  • Full recycle and full extraction of materials by using renewable energy..and
  • Bypassing use of solar panels to convert light into electricity!

Movement of the Net Zero University campus not only makes campus net-zero per se but builds the capacity of the youth to accelerate innovations so that Net Zero action does not cause damage to the eco system. Visit sccnhub.com
