At Sonny's 2023 Summer Convention, The Focus is on Forging the Future

The 2023 Summer Convention is officially in the books. The two-day event welcomed Franchisees, General Managers, Team Members, Vendors and Partners from across the Sonny's footprint to the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Orlando, Florida. The theme this year: Forge the Future.

Day 1

The first day started with registration before splitting up into afternoon breakout sessions. We offered a total of four sessions, with two pairs going on at the same time, so attendees could really focus on the subjects that resonated with them. The topics ranged from #Catering best practices and #Pitmaster expertise to Local Store #Marketing strategies and #Recruitment workshops. After a fun welcome reception filled with games for the entire family, we finished the night with a watch party for Pitmasters Shannon Snell and Jesse Carter as they appeared on Food Network 's BBQ USA.

Day 2

This is where the meat of the Summer Convention is. It started with a General Session to discuss the state of Sonny's, and some exciting #Innovations we have planned for the future. We also welcomed Donald Burns to give our inspiring Keynote Address, which focused on putting people first in our restaurants and making sure to build those relationships. A jam-packed Vendor Showcase followed, along with several breakout sessions for Franchisees and General Managers. Then, we wrapped up both days with a delicious dinner, karaoke with a full band and several awards to recognize some the outstanding people at Sonny's.
