Lauren and her son.

What are you most proud of about being a working Mom?

I am most proud of my work ethic and fun job so my son sees my career as an inspiration.

How do you communicate your availability and boundaries to your team?

I work on a team of Mom's so we understand and accommodate for each other when support is needed. We have our own work family so we give advice and have play dates with each other kids if they are close to age.

What kind of support do you find most helpful from the workplace and/or your manager?

Trust and support. Trusting that your manager has your work (center) flowing and supporting everyway possible.

What are ways you invest in your health and wellbeing?

A lot of rest when I have free time.

How do you promote transparency and challenge societal norms to support working parents (and yourself) in openly communicating about expected and unexpected family events?

I am very open about my life and have a great relationship with my work family so if something comes up, I would communicate it and make a plan.

What are some of the biggest challenges you have faced as a working Mom?

Family support while I am working. I have a small support system so if my routine has a shift to it I have to work hard to have assistance on helping me with taking care of my son if I have work.

What solutions or practices have you found most effective in overcoming these challenges?

Planning ahead of time as much as possible.

What do you love most about being a Mom?

The genuine love that your child has for you as a mom. Just knowing this little creature depends and trust you so much is such a great feeling.

What words of encouragement do you have for other working Moms?

Keep pushing for greatness. The harder you work the more positivity will come your way.

What changes in the industry do you hope to see to support working parents?

Child care within the work place for when kids get out of school (Daycare- Middle school).
