Staying The Course: 3 Tips to Keep Your Fitness Journey Moving
People are paralyzed from getting in shape or improving their health for a variety of reasons. But the one that hurts people the most is just so much information out there. What to believe and what not to believe. Advice left and right that leads to paralysis by analysis.
To be honest, getting in shape requires simplicity, but consistency above all. It's of no use for you to do everything right in the kitchen, but don't work out and vice versa. Nutrition and training require consistent effort. Some days are better than others and you will slip up. It happens, but you have to get right back up on the horse you fell off of. Here are some tips that can help you with your journey.
1: Prepare food and workouts ahead of time
You should have your foods prepared and ready to go for the week or the day ahead of time. That way, it's just grab and go as your week progresses. As far as workouts, you should have a plan of what you want to do, especially if you want to improve something. If you don't have a plan, make one up thats tangible. Some examples are squatting x amount of weight by x date. It will help focus in your training so it won't seem like you're wasting time.
2: Stay on your plan
Nothing will denote failure more than not staying on your plan. Now can there be room for adjustment? of course, but overall....you have to stay on your course of action. Block out distractions. The most common one being doing what other people are doing. If you get an idea and want to try to incorporate it into your training or diet plan, have at it, but the bulk of your plan needs to stay in place. Don't worry about what Susie from accounting or what Dan in the mailroom is doing. Stay in your lane.
3: Believing in yourself
You can do any fitness plan you want, but if you don't believe it will work, it's all for nothing. There will be many to deter you with snide remarks dressed up as questions. Belief is a driver in all of this. You have to know you'll be rewarded with your efforts....the ups and the downs.
Making a transformation is hard, especially when it comes to body composition. But know that the three tips can at least provide some sort of guidance as you make your way along your fitness journey.
