It sounds counter-intuitive that you should be transparent from the onset - you might feel that if your date, your boy/girlfriend, your life partner actually knew everything you were thinking and feeling, they would run for the hills. But here's the truth...

You see, Truth-telling is an amazing filtering tool, sorting the riff-raff from the real deal. This is a very uncomfortable concept for the women I teach in Love Lab. Firmly attached to the idea that being "strategic" is the way to "land" the perfect mate, they conceal, censor, omit certain information and toss away authenticity for myth of "The One."
Here's a definition of STRATEGY from the Oxford Dictionary: A plan for military operations and movements during a war or battle.
Really? This is how you wish to find Deep, Soulful Love? Act as if you were launching a military operation?
If intimacy and connection is what you seek, you're going to have to be willing to be transparent, vulnerable, authentic and true. Sounds simple, I know. But I bet you are resisting me here, recognizing that in practice, it's not easy. But I know you. You are an explorer. You have it in you to blow up all of your strategic moves for the sake of Deep, Soulful Love. You have it in you to be True, no matter what the cost. Stop playing it safe. Get comfortable being uncomfortable.
They payoff is so sweet.
Can you see it? Standing in that place where both you and s/he meet, where nothing is withheld? A place of honesty and truth? A place of acceptance? Isn't that what you seek? I know you've got it in you.
