A Story Of Hotel Growth…And A Bright Future

Looking back on 2023, the Hyatt Inclusive Collection continued its steady trajectory of growth in existing and new markets around the globe, working with a mix of current and first-time developers of its brands. And, developers did this with confidence, bringing the resort management company’s leisure brands to picturesque beach locations in destinations where the luxury all-inclusive concept has the greatest potential to thrive. 

 

In Mexico and the Dominican Republic, countries where the Inclusive Collection maintains a significant presence, several new resorts opened in 2023. This growth aligns with the Inclusive Collection’s mission to keep customers for life by developing specialized brands and vacation experiences for celebrating life’s big things, the little moments, and everything in between.

  • In February 2023, Dreams Flora Resort & Spa opened in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Situated on a palm-lined beach in Cabeza de Toro, this family-friend tropical sanctuary is the fifth Dreams Resort & Spa in the destination.
  • In May of this year, Mexico welcomed the 125-room, adults-only Impressions Isla Mujeres by Secrets, denoting the second resort of this brand in the country. Less than 30 minutes from Cancun is this tranquil beachfront oasis where impeccable service and exceptional amenities are paramount.
  • Secrets® Tulum Resort & Beach Club opened in fall 2023. Situated minutes from the beach in the heart of downtown Tulum, this adults-only resort marks the expansion of the Inclusive Collection’s presence in Mexico to 44 total resorts and the 12th Secrets Resort & Spa branded property in the country.
  • Sunscape Coco Punta Cana opened in November 2023. Nestled along Bavaro Beach in Cabeza de Toro, the newly remodeled 1,059-room family-friendly property expands the Inclusive Collection’s portfolio in the Dominican Republic to 15 resorts and marks the opening of the second Sunscape Resort & Spa branded property in the country.

 

Building off this growth, the Inclusive Collection is riding great momentum moving into 2024 and beyond with planned openings in current and new markets, plus additional projects in the pipeline.

 

The Inclusive Collection is expected to welcome new resorts across multiple brands in the Caribbean and Mexico, including:

  • Secrets St. Lucia Resort & Spa will be the first Secrets Resort & Spa property on St. Lucia, providing guests with access to an unspoiled white-sand beach located just minutes from the capital city of Castries.
  • Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres and Secrets Playa Esmeralda in Punta Cana bring the quintessential adults-only, luxury all-inclusive concept to additional beachfront locations in Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
  • The family-friendly Dreams brand will expand with the launch of Dreams Estrella Del Mar Mazatlan Golf & Spa Resort, Dreams Grand Island in Cancun and Dreams Playa Esmeralda in Punta Cana.
  • Next year heralds the debut of the Hyatt Vivid Hotels & Resorts brand with Hyatt Vivid Grand Island in Cancun. This adults-only brand embodies a spirit of casual comforts, simple pleasures, and a relaxed style for all types of travelers.

 

Reflecting the Inclusive Collection’s flexible business model and its adaptability to different geographic markets and audiences, the resort management company will raise flags in three European countries in 2024:

  • Bulgaria will welcome its first Breathless Resort and Spa in the center of Sunny Beach along the Black Sea coast, joining the Secrets, Dreams and Alua brands in the country (which opened in summer 2023), where picturesque scenery, intriguing history, and compelling adventures await leisure vacationers.  
  • The trending destination of Portugal will be home to Dreams Madeira Resort, Spa & Marina, featuring spacious accommodations, wellness experiences, and abundant activities in a magnificent setting.  
  • Also opening in mid-2024 is Zoëtry Halkidiki in Greece. Situated on a hill overlooking the azure waters of the Aegean Sea, this exquisite property will exemplify the brand’s emphasis on combining luxury and individual well-being.

 

Expansion into Europe and further growth in the Caribbean and Mexico are a testament to the strong consumer appeal of the Inclusive Collection’s luxury all-inclusive concept featuring immersive experiences, elevated amenities, diverse high-quality food and beverage, extensive activities, and personalized services. World of Hyatt loyalty members also reap the rewards, enriching their access to authentic leisure travel experiences in a thoughtfully curated group of high-end properties around the world.

 

Signaling a bright future for hotel development, a recent World Travel & Tourism Council report indicated that travel and tourism are expected to increase by approximately 12% of global GDP by 2033. With its elevated all-inclusive luxury experience and international growth, Inclusive Collection brands are well-positioned to meet the anticipated increased demand for luxury resort accommodations in stunning locations around the globe.

 

The numbers speak volumes about the Inclusive Collection’s success. According to Hyatt Hotel Corporation’s latest earnings report, comparable Net Package RevPAR for Apple Leisure Group properties increased 8.7% in the third quarter of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022. Booking pace for luxury all-inclusive ALG resorts in Cancun is up 8% for the festive period and up 12% for the first quarter of 2024 – powerful indicators of the profitability potential for today’s hotel developers.
