Summer 2020 Reading List
In the early days of the pandemic, it was next to impossible for most of us to sit down and read with any consistency or sustained effort. Frankly, it was hard to focus on anything at all for an extended period of time. If you haven't done so yet, now is the time to get back to reading. Whether it is reading non-fiction or fiction, learning/development or entertainment/escape, it is good for you. In any case, it's summertime, so pour yourself a good Chardonnay, go outside and find a quiet spot in the shade, and dive into any of the following books our Kilberry advisors recommend:
What we're reading this summer:
- Humankind: A Hopeful History by Rutger Bregman
- American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins
- The Ride of a Lifetime by Bob Iger
- So You Want to Talk About Race by Ijeoma Oluo
- The Testaments by Margaret Atwood
- Mrs. Everything by Jennifer Weiner
- Not Born Yesterday: The Science of Who We Trust and What We Believe by Hugo Mercier
- Becoming by Michelle Obama
- If it Bleeds by Stephen King
- The Spy and the Traitor by Ben Macintyre
Additional books we recommend:
- Educated by Tara Westover
- The Home for Unwanted Girls by Joanna Goodman
- The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah
- Aria by Nazanine Hozar

4yIf you haven’t read it yet, The Dutch House by Ann Patchett. Tom Hanks reads a great audiobook version if that’s your preference.
