Sundays in Game Dev: A Toast to the Weekend Warriors

Sundays in Game Dev: A Toast to the Weekend Warriors

Ah, Sunday. The day when most folks are lounging about, roasting something in the oven, or grumbling about the impending Monday. But in the game dev realm, Sundays are just another day in the grind - a blend of passion, obsession, and the occasional whip-cracking.

I remember my own days as a bright-eyed 20-year-old, convinced that chaining myself to the desk was my express ticket to gaming glory. “Work hard, play hard,” I’d say, ignoring the irony that my version of playing hard was actually just working more.

Back then, Sundays were my battlegrounds, my epic quests. I thought putting in those hours was like building a ladder to Olympus, where the gods of gaming would welcome me with open arms. But you know what? It felt a lot more like a one-way ticket to Valhalla, where the weary warriors go to rest.

And sure, I got my rewards. My first car – a metal beast that guzzled fuel like a gamer does energy drinks. A trophy for my hard-earned spoils of war. But here’s the thing: it’s a path with more pitfalls than a dungeon crawler.

So here’s a cheer for all you brave souls working this Sunday. Whether you’re driven by passion, necessity, or a lack of a better social calendar, just remember: don’t linger too long in this weekend warzone. Olympus isn’t going anywhere, but your sanity and social life just might.

To the Sunday soldiers, keep fighting the good fight – but don’t forget there’s a world outside those studio walls. And trust me, it’s worth exploring.

Sincerely,

PixelWraith
