If you work in a role with other people, a role where your clients are buying “you” or have competitors who offer a similar service, and you need to differentiate yourself, self-awareness is key. It supports you to build stronger relationships, make better more informed decisions and ultimately experience greater job satisfaction. Many of us think we are self-aware but are you really? - Talent Intelligence Collective Monthly Meetup - June Round Up A round up of key themes and topics from this months call
- TechWolf raises $42.75M for AI-driven talent management solutions TechWolf, a Belgian AI company has closed a $42.75 million Series B funding round to build the AI Infrastructure layer for employee skills. The company was founded in 2018 by Andreas De Neve, Jeroen van Hautte, and Mikaël Wornoo, who met while they were computer science engineering students at Ghent University and Cambridge University.
- Bullhorn acquires Textkernel Bullhorn, a Boston-based company specialising in recruitment software, has acquired Amsterdam’s Textkernel, an AI-powered recruitment and talent management solutions provider.
- Ying and yang of AI bots: How the war on hiring is being fought AI is transforming hiring practices, with both job seekers and employers leveraging AI tools. Sara Gutierrez of SHL advocates for using AI with Talent Intelligence data to improve hiring outcomes. This approach promises to match candidates to roles based on skills rather than traditional qualifications, potentially revolutionizing recruitment.
- ‘High demand for AI talent pushes wages up by 25%’ The demand for AI talent is skyrocketing, with job postings growing 3.5 times faster than other roles since 2016. According to a PwC report, wages for AI-related jobs have increased by up to 25% due to high demand. While this surge presents opportunities for economic growth, workers will need to acquire new skills to remain relevant in the AI-driven job market.
- Chinese universities ramp up efforts to foster AI talent amid global AI race. Chinese universities are intensifying efforts to cultivate AI talent amid a global race for technological dominance. Top institutions are establishing dedicated AI schools and integrating AI courses across disciplines. This push aims to address a projected shortage of 4 million AI professionals in China by 2030, with some expert roles commanding annual salaries up to 2 million yuan.
- Closing the employment gap for older workers would generate £9 billion a year for the economy The Centre for Ageing Better analysis reveals that closing the employment gap between older and younger workers could boost the UK economy by £9 billion annually. The charity is calling for political parties to commit to raising the employment rate of 50-64 year olds to 75% by 2030. This would address current labor market imbalances affecting older workers, including age discrimination and lack of flexible working options, while potentially generating an additional £1.6 billion in tax revenue.
Overall the market is fairly busy especially in the USA and when you look at the broader WFP and PA landscape. We are still seeing a new core Talent Intelligence teams being stood up, a few hybrid sourcing and talent intelligence, but overall the market is in a much more positive place than even 6m ago.
