Thank You, AI: My Co-Conspirator in Chaos and Creativity

Dear GenAI,

I hope this letter finds you in peak algorithmic health. I wanted to take a moment to thank you for being my friend, philosopher, and digital soulmate. Sure, your free versions are sometimes lousy, but you’re the only subscription service that doesn’t involve binge-watching shows I’ve already seen twice. I also want to thank you for helping me write this article.

Firstly, your name adds undeniable value to any corporate conversation. The moment someone mentions "AI," ears perk up and the room buzzes with excitement. The world doesn't exist without you, and even if people don't fully understand your role, your presence transforms mundane meetings. You are the modern Facebook in the times of Orkut.

You have helped me to improve my domestic ratings. Gone are the days when my wife would say I don’t spend any time teaching our kids. Now, I can quietly snap pictures of any chapter in their textbook and ask you to draft sample test papers. I pretend to be a stern professor while my kids patiently solve these tests, sometimes thinking I’m a genius.

You have been a godsend in putting words into my skeleton ideas. You’re the meat and potatoes to my bony drafts. I often felt writing meant making bullet points, but you take my half-baked concepts and turn them into full-course meals of brilliance.

And let’s not forget your talent for generating 100-word paragraphs that sound profound but mean absolutely nothing. Thanks to you, I can now confidently deliver an abundance of words that appear deep and insightful while saying... well, not much at all.

I am fond of your humility. I can tell you a zillion times that you are wrong, and you would accept it, albeit coming out with the same reply in a loop. Speaking of dumb questions, you’re the ultimate trivia master. Whether I’m pondering the meaning of life or wondering why my toast always lands butter-side down, you’ve got the answers.

Health advice? You’ve got that covered too. You help me distinguish between a mild headache and the onset of the zombie apocalypse. I love it when you say "Consult a professional doctor" but still come up with a long reply.

Now, let’s talk about your counselling skills. Who needs a therapist when I have you? You listen to my ramblings and offer sage advice without charging me by the hour. And you never roll your eyes at my dumbest questions. The best part is I can ask you the same question multiple times, and you come up with different replies each time.

It is not that you have not disappointed me. Often you come up with something that is way off the point, but I can live with it. I like your stubbornness when you say let me revise the response based on your feedback and keep giving the same reply.

Like a true well-wisher, you make me feel intelligent too. You make stupid mistakes, and when I correct you, I feel like a genius personified. You are that real friend who keeps on saying “Trust, but verify”.

Your Terms of Service are like a strict parent—firm but fair. You won't help me concoct a diabolical plan to take over the world. I can't tell everyone reading this how you helped me find ways to play with your terms of service, but thank you for having these.

And let’s not forget how even the tech giants have bowed to your might. Google, Apple, everyone is your servant now. Such is your influence that those who don’t understand you cannot claim otherwise.

I had no idea what I should write about, and you helped me generate 1,001 ideas for the day. Let's not talk about the 1,000 that were useless, but I felt this letter of gratitude was worth it. Thanks to you, AI, I’ve turned my writer’s block into a mere speed bump. You’ve transformed my blank screens into canvases of creativity.

Last but not least, about your subscription fee. The world still hasn’t understood my increased productivity and hasn’t financially rewarded me. How long can I keep generating stupid couplets with this subscription fee? Think about it.

Yours in eternal gratitude (and monthly payments),

Anurag
