Memorial Day. It serves as the unofficial beginning of the summer season. But it is so much more. 

 It is a day for us to remember those who have gone before us who paid a great price for our freedom and liberty. We owe a great debt to every brave American that has worn the uniform of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard. But we owe a special debt of gratitude to those who gave their lives for the freedoms that we enjoy.

 How can we remember them on this Memorial Day 2017? One way is by not taking our freedom for granted. Be grateful and thankful for all that we enjoy as Americans.

 Memorial Day is a day to remember. We remember those who gave us our freedom. We remember our loved ones that have gone before us. And, most of all, we remember the sacrifice that the Lord Jesus made for our sins. 

 Here is a word from the Word:

 “This day is to be a memorial for you, and you must celebrate it as a festival to the Lord. You are to celebrate it throughout your generations as a permanent statute.” (Exodus 12:14)
