Thanksgiving 2020 - Much to be Thankful for!

Today is Thanksgiving.

It is a holiday celebrated in the United States. It is a remembrance of the legacy left by the Pilgrims who, 400 years ago, braved the Atlantic crossing to come to America so that they can practice their faith openly.

Indeed, the United States is a unique country, and we are blessed to live here. This is a country where we, as human beings, are acknowledged to have unalienable rights. These rights are inherent in all persons. Furthermore, the government is established to protect our unalienable rights as opposed to infringing upon them. We do not need to look upon the government to define what rights we have.

Indeed, we are blessed to be an American. For me, as an immigrant and a minority, Thanksgiving is a time that reminds me that the American Dream is alive and well. When we emigrated here over 30 years ago, we were dirt poor. McDonald's was our Ruth's Chris. But, through God's blessing, grit, and perseverance, one can strive and succeed as I have.

The late Rev. Billy Graham put it best. America has probably been the most successful experiment in history. The American Dream was a glorious attempt. Its success was because it was built on the faith of our forefathers who believe in Almighty God to guide them. The early concepts of America came from Holy Scripture—and the Lord blessed us because of it.

If you spend any time watching, reading, or listening to the media, you'd conclude that we live in a chaotic time. However, if you unplug and sit still, you will be amazed at the numerous items that you are blessed with.

Happy Thanksgiving!
