Three ways I rejuvenate during a busy season

Three ways I rejuvenate during a busy season

To my amazing community of powerhouse women,

SIGH. The holiday season, am I right?

Don’t get me wrong—I love the chance to spend time with loved ones during this festive time.

But man, can this time of year be exhausting. From family gatherings to travel to running around to different events, there is a LOT that demands our attention and energy.

Lately, I’ve been talking with clients about how they spend time rejuvenating. I see rejuvenation as different from relaxation. Rejuvenation, specifically, is about something that restores you and lets you hit “restart.” It fills up your cup so you have the energy to keep going.

This time of year, I think we could all use to do something just for ourselves. Even if it’s just for an hour. Give yourself a moment where your boundaries and energy are protected.

Rejuvenation can look different for everyone, but here’s what I’ve been doing lately:

1. A 15-minute closet cleanout.

I know what you’re thinking—that sounds like work. But for whatever reason, I find nothing more rejuvenating than standing in front of my closet and letting go of some stuff.

I make it easy on myself; there’s always a thredUP bag in process on the floor of my closet, and I can drop clothes in there anytime. (I get my thredUP bags from Athleta, but you can get them directly from thredUP too.) Having the bag there makes it a really smooth and calming process!

There’s something so cathartic about downsizing with intention, and I can spend just ten minutes doing this and feel a little dose of rejuvenation.

2. My skincare routine.

My skincare routine is so mentally and physically restorative for me. Not only do I feel good that I’m taking care of my skin, it’s fun! I love deciding what concoction I’m going to throw at my skin that day.

The bonus of products like masks is that you really HAVE to take a break. If your mask needs to dry for 15 minutes, that’s 15 more minutes you get to spend on just you.

3. Dancing around my apartment.

I love to turn on music REALLY loud and start dancing in my apartment. It quite literally makes me smile to do this and moving my body around gets me out of my head.

It might feel a little stupid, but I’ve decided I don’t care! I love that it makes me take myself less seriously, and I do genuinely feel restored after just a couple minutes of dancing around.

And yeah, my neighbors can definitely hear this, and some may even see this happening—oh well! 🤪

How do you like to rejuvenate, especially during the holiday season? What’s something that helps you reset and fill up your cup? Send me all the ideas, I’d love to hear them!
